Dominick Clayton is an award-winning educator, published author, and actor, born in Orlando, Florida. He graduated from John Carroll University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in marketing. While at JCU, he was an all-conference athlete in both football and track. After a stint in arena football, Dominick transitioned into education, beginning his career as a special education math teacher at his high school alma mater, Mt. Dora High School. Encouraged by his administration team, he pursued leadership and earned a master’s degree in Science with a focus on educational leadership from Barry University.

In 2006, Dominick stepped into educational leadership as an assistant principal at a low-performing high school, where he developed a deep passion for nurturing whole human beings through education. His commitment to fostering humanity and love has remained central to his mission.

Beyond education, Dominick has expanded his impact as a storyteller. As a published author, his work delves into critical historical and social themes, with his latest book, Unhuman, exploring the dehumanization of people throughout American history—particularly the enslavement of Black individuals, the moral corruption of enslavers, and those who profited from slavery.

Additionally, Dominick has pursued acting, using his platform to bring compelling narratives to life on screen and stage. Whether through education, writing, or performance, he is dedicated to illuminating truth, fostering understanding, and inspiring change.
