Denita Lacking-Quinn is a seasoned professional with over 17 years of experience in the construction management industry. Currently serving as the MWBE Diversity Manager for Balfour Beatty US, one of the largest firms in North Texas, Denita brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Prior to this, she held the position of Supervisor of Procurement for the City of Dallas.
Denita is actively involved in various projects and initiatives. Some of her current projects include overseeing a $45 million project for Crowley ISD, managing the development of Balfour Beatty University, organizing monthly trade mixers for Balfour Beatty, and engaging with the community. She is also a founding board member of the Southern Dallas Progress CDC and serves on the Advisory Board of Behind Every Door - Cedar Crest. Additionally, Denita holds board positions with Friends of Fair Park and Baylor Scott & White Community Advisory Board.
Her past initiatives demonstrate her commitment to supporting small businesses and promoting diversity. Denita played a key role in the development of the City of Dallas Small Business Center ARPA Assistance Program and served as a HUB Presenter at the Government Procurement Conference in 2022. She also spearheaded the creation of the City of Dallas Small Business Center and collaborated with the U.S. Small Business Administration to host the 2022 Lender's Roundtable. As a panelist and speaker at the 2022 LATINA Style Business Series, Denita shared her expertise and insights. She was instrumental in organizing the 2022 Community Impact Event Presented by the Small Business Center and contributed to the development of the FreshStart Program and Women Entrepreneurs Leadership Forum. Furthermore, Denita played a crucial role as a founding collaborator for the BECK School of Construction in 2022.
Denita's dedication to continuous learning is evident through her extensive educational background. She has successfully completed courses from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, M.I.T., and Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth. Moreover, Denita is a certified professional in Google and Bing advertising, and she holds over five Federal Government Contract Regulation certifications from the National Contract Management Association and Institute for Supply Management.
